Lladó village.
Originally it was a shed for keeping farming tools, and in 1910 got
converted into a house, which since then hashed slight renovations made.
Surrounded by fields
and
olive trees, it is an ideal starting place for making all kinds of
excursions, with many unique and interesting things to visit and do in the
area.
Lladó is a small Empordan village seated at
the base of the mountain the Mare de Déu del Mont.
Santa Maria church, is the jewel in the middle of the old quarter and worth
a visit.
You can also enjoy the gastronomy, refresh yourself in the municipal
swimming pool, or go horse riding, bicycling or walking along the marked
paths of the GR-2 or GR-11 that pass by the village. |
Its
privileged position on the border of the counties of the Empordà, the
Garrotxa and the Pla de l’Estany allows one to be in Figueres, Besalú or
Banyoles within 15 minutes.
A few kilometres away you will find Port de la Selva, Cadaqués, l’Escala and
a host of other fishing villages that offer their beaches and coves, as well
as the well known cuisine of the area.
Enjoy the Romanesque architecture of St. Pere de Rodes, Castelló d’Empúries,
Vilabetran, Besalú and many other little churches.
If you are fans of nature,
there are four Natural Parks: Cap de Creus, with its geology that inspired
Dalí, the Aiguamolls of the Empordà, an obligatory place to visit for bird
watchers, the Volcanic Parc of the Garrotxa, with the relaxing beech woods
of the "Fageda d’en Jordà", and finally the Alberes, where you can observe
Mediterranean tortoises.
