Lladó is a small village, nestling at the foot of the Mare de Déu Mountain. It is only 10 miles from Figueres and 20 miles from Girona.
Midway between the diverse landscape of the Empordan plain and the leafy forests of the Garrotxa.
The village itself, clustered around such architectural jewels as the Romanic church of Santa Maria (12th century), the church of Sant Feliu (18th century) and the ancient Augustinian cloisters (11th century), is well worth a visit.
You can also enjoy typical local fare in Lladó’s restaurants; bathe in the municipal swimming pool, or go walking or cycling by the banks of the river Manol or along the long-distance footpaths that pass close by the village. (GR2)
